Background
My interest in counselling began with a genuine curiosity in people; why we think, feel, cope, and connect the way we do. Through my own life experiences, education, and work with people from diverse backgrounds, I’ve come to understand how much can exist beneath the surface of what someone presents to the world. These experiences have shaped my belief that everyone deserves a space where they can set aside the pressure to have everything figured out, feel seen and understood, and simply be human.
I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology after earning my bachelor’s degree in psychology. My clinical experience includes working with adults, youth, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, ADHD, substance use, emotional regulation difficulties, family conflict, and major life transitions. I have also supported individuals in crisis through volunteer work with the Fraser Health Crisis Line and have experience supporting neurodiverse youth.
As a Punjabi woman, I also understand that culture, family, identity, expectations, and mental health can intersect in complicated ways. I provide counselling in both English and Punjabi and value creating a culturally responsive space where clients don't feel they have to explain or minimize important parts of who they are.
Outside of counselling, you'll usually find me spending time with the people I love, travelling, staying active, trying a new workout, or going for a walk with my dog, Scooby. I value connection, humour, growth, and having a life outside of work, and I encourage my clients to build lives that feel meaningful to them, too.
