All You Need to Know About an Intern Counsellor

Interns at Charting Pathways Counselling are Master’s-level counselling students completing the final stage of their professional training. They provide compassionate, client-centred counselling in a supportive and welcoming environment, while working under the close supervision of a fully qualified, registered counsellor.

Sessions with an intern are offered at a reduced fee, making counselling more accessible:

$50.00 per individual session

Our interns offer in-person counselling from our Downtown Vancouver and Downtown New Westminster locations, as well as online sessions. Clients receive thoughtful, evidence-based care with the added benefit of professional supervision.

Hi, I'm Zoie and I’m an intern therapist offering affordable support to those who may be navigating OCD, eating and body image concerns, trauma, chronic illness or anxiety and depression. These experiences can show up in your body, your thoughts, and the way you move through everyday life. Understanding how these patterns work can make them feel more manageable and can help you feel more grounded and in control.

My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. I believe in showing up authentically, fostering transparency, and offering a non-judgmental approach where you can feel supported and accepted exactly as you are. Together, we can help you build practical skills that support your well-being and growth so you can start to feel like your best self again.

Background

I have an interest in supporting those experiencing OCD, eating and body image concerns, anxiety, and depression. I’m especially passionate about helping those who have experienced trauma, including medical trauma, chronic illness, and offering caregiver support. I incorporate a trauma-informed lens into all my work to ensure you get the support that feels right for you.

Before joining the Charting Pathways team, I had the opportunity to volunteer with organizations in my community including the Kids Help Line as a crisis responder, and the Canadian Cancer Society’s Camp Goodtimes. I am committed to giving back to my community and making mental health support more accessible because I believe everyone deserves a safe, supportive space to be heard. I am focused on my education and receiving ongoing supervision in order to provide the best care possible. Outside of counselling, I enjoy trying new restaurants and cafes, and spending time with my family, friends, and most importantly, my dog.
